Frønningen is part of the Nature Preserve and World Heritage area of the West Norwegian Fjords. There is no road connection from Frønningen to the main land, only access is by ferry from Kaupanger.

Knut Rumohr is best-known for his abstract art, often in vibrant colours and inspired by the nature of Norway’s West Coast.
GODSET
Today Frønningen is the largest forest estate in Western Norway, with a collective area of 65 000 acres, of which approximately 50 000 acres is woodland.

The first written sources describing forestry and sawmill operations at Frønningen are from the end of the 1500s.

Today Frønningen is the largest privately owned forest estate in Western Norway. It is possible to pay a visit to the main house, museum buildings (collected by Knut Rumohr), or enjoy a guided vineyard tour.
